We founded Sergiu Bogdan & Associates in 2010. We are all criminal defense lawyers. Sergiu BOGDAN is the lead attorney in our law firm, with the most experience in the field of criminal law, holding the academic title of PhD Professor. He is a practicing lawyer since 1997. Alongside him, Teodora GODÎNCĂ-HERLEA and Doris Alina ŞERBAN are the other two partners of the law firm. In time, the team has been expanded by including one further associate attorney, Laurenţiu Vasile NEGREAN.
Our clients benefit from an in-depth analysis of the legal situation presented to us. None of our cases are handled by a single attorney. In particularly complex cases, the possibility of involving the entire team will be taken into consideration.
You should also know that after entering into a legal assistance agreement we act solely in the interest of the client. We do not accept a case without a preliminary analysis, either by means of the information provided verbally by the client or by studying the file.
Finally, we are in this business because we like it, not because we have to be. For that reason, to us, each new case is a challenge.
Our law firm charges global or per hour fees.
Global fees usually refer to one stage of the trial (for instance, criminal prosecution, trial of first instance, appeal etc.). The rate shall be determined according to the complexity of the case, the estimated amount of work necessary for preparing a defense, as well as the amount of work necessary for studying the relevant jurisprudence.
The per hour fees for the services provided shall be determined in accordance with the fee schedule of our firm, which will be made available to the client during the signing of the contract.
Be advised that our firm is a VAT payer, a tax that shall be applied to the fees agreed upon with the client. The fees are set in Euros and billing shall be made in Lei at the Euro exchange rate of the invoicing day.
A complete fee schedule is available at our office for clients who set up an appointment seeking legal advice or representation and can also be communicated to the client, in writing or on the phone, before the appointment is scheduled.
Our law firm offers the following legal services in criminal matters: legal advice in criminal matters; representation/assistance in the criminal prosecution phase; representation/assistance in first instance trials and in appeals of criminal cases; representation/assistance in the complaint procedure against the prosecutor’s decision not to institute criminal proceedings (Art. 340 New Criminal Procedure Code); representation/assistance in preventive arrest proposals and European arrest warrant procedures; review of the documents provided by the client or of the case file and recommendation of a solution through a written report; drafting criminal complaints; representation/assistance in any other type of criminal proceedings.
To date, our law firm has provided legal assistance and representation in criminal cases related to: market abuse, corruption offences, negligence in employment, conflict of interest, abusive conduct, slanderous denunciation, drug trafficking, migrant trafficking, money laundering, tax evasion, unauthorized access to a computer system, computer fraud, battery on law enforcement officer, trespassing, blackmail, aggravated theft, fraud, first-degree murder, manslaughter, assault and battery, unintentional injury, threat, non-compliance with court orders, misrepresentation, forgery, use of forgery, traffic offenses, other offenses stipulated in the special laws.
